Shed base concrete slab cost

Shed pads are the friendliest slab to pour yourself: small enough for bags or a single small ready-mix load, and forgiving on finish since it's under a floor. The main decisions are size (match it to your shed footprint plus a small overhang) and whether to add a light rebar or mesh grid.

Popular sizes are 8×8, 10×10 and 10×12 — price yours below and use the base-gravel card to get a solid, well-drained pad.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a concrete slab for a shed cost?
A shed base is small, so it's cheap: a 10×12 slab runs about $650–$1,450 installed at 4" in 2026, and many people DIY it in bags or a small ready-mix load for a few hundred dollars in materials.
How thick should a shed slab be?
4" is plenty for a garden shed or workshop. Only go thicker if you'll store very heavy equipment or a vehicle.
Do I need a concrete base for a shed?
A concrete slab gives the most durable, level, pest-resistant base and doubles as the floor. Gravel or paver bases are cheaper alternatives for lighter sheds.
How many bags of concrete for a shed slab?
A 10×10 4" pad needs about 21 × 80 lb bags; a 10×12 needs about 25. The calculator gives the exact count for your size and every bag weight.
